Community Guidelines

Draft pending legal review. This document was written by the engineering team to describe the rules the platform actually enforces. It has not yet been reviewed by qualified counsel and should be before Buzzega serves real users.

1. Who this applies to

Anyone who creates their own questions, answers, game titles or other content on Buzzega — we call you the Host. It does not apply to Buzzega's own ready-made games, which we write and review ourselves.

2. Buzzega is used by children

Our ready-made library includes content written for Kindergarten through Grade 12, and children play through a Host's game without needing an account. Write your content on the assumption that a child will read it. Content that would be unremarkable among adults may still breach these rules here.

3. Content that is not allowed

Do not create, upload or publish content that contains or promotes:

• Any sexualisation of a minor, or child sexual abuse material. We report this to the relevant authorities and terminate the account.
• Sexual or explicit content, or sexual exploitation of anyone.
• Hate speech, or attacks on people because of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or any other protected characteristic.
• Harassment, bullying, threats, or content targeting a private individual.
• Violence, or graphic depictions of violence or injury.
• Encouragement of self-harm, suicide or eating disorders.
• Extremist material, or recruitment for violent or extremist groups.
• Instructions for serious illegal activity, weapons or dangerous substances.
• Personal or private information about anyone — names combined with addresses, phone numbers, schools, workplaces or images — whether about a player or a third party.
• Requests for players to reveal personal information about themselves.
• Malware, phishing, scams, fraud, or links intended to deceive.
• Spam, or bulk content published to game the platform.
• Content that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark.
• Abusive profanity, or language chosen to shock rather than to play.

This list describes the kinds of content we refuse. It is not exhaustive, and content can breach these Guidelines without matching an item above.

4. Your responsibility

You are responsible for the content you create and publish. You confirm that you have the right to use it, that it complies with these Guidelines, our Terms of Service and applicable law, and that it is suitable for the players you invite.

Your responsibility does not replace ours. We review, moderate and remove content, and we do not treat your acceptance of these Guidelines as a reason not to.

5. What we may do

Where content breaches these Guidelines, or we reasonably believe it does, we may:

• refuse to publish it, or withdraw it from play while we review it;
• remove it;
• restrict your ability to publish;
• suspend or terminate your account;
• retain records of the content and the decision for as long as we need them to handle appeals, prevent repeat breaches, or meet a legal obligation;
• report the matter to law enforcement or another authority where the law requires it or where there is a risk to someone's safety.

We may act on a report from a player, on an automated signal, or on our own review. Content reported for child-safety reasons is withdrawn from play immediately while a person looks at it.

6. Reporting content

Any player in a game can report its content. Reports go to our moderation team and are prioritised by severity — child-safety reports are looked at first.

Please do not submit reports you know to be false. Doing so wastes review time that other reports need, and we may restrict accounts that abuse the reporting system.

7. If your content is rejected or removed

We tell you what happened and why. In most cases you can edit the content and submit it again; edited content is reviewed afresh. If you believe we got it wrong, contact us at contact@buzzega.com and a person will look again.

Content removed for child-safety reasons is not reinstated on request.

8. Changes to these Guidelines

We record the version of these Guidelines you accepted. If we change them in a way that affects what you are agreeing to, we will publish a new version and ask you to accept it before you publish again.

9. Online Safety Act

Buzzega lets users publish content other users see, and is likely to be accessed by children, so we treat ourselves as in scope of the UK Online Safety Act 2023. That means we assess the risk of illegal and harmful content, operate systems to prevent it appearing, provide the reporting route described above, and explain our moderation in these Guidelines. Our compliance work is in progress and this section will be updated as it completes.
