1. The short version
Buzzega™ sets three cookies, all of them strictly necessary to sign you in and keep you signed in safely. We use no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, and no third-party trackers of any kind.
We use only cookies that are necessary to deliver the service you asked for. We do not use cookies for tracking, profiling or advertising, and we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
2. The cookies we set
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
buzzega_access | Keeps you signed in as a Host. Marked HttpOnly, so page scripts cannot read it. | Short-lived; refreshed while you are active |
buzzega_refresh | Lets your session be renewed without making you log in repeatedly. HttpOnly. | Until it expires or you log out |
buzzega_csrf | Protects against cross-site request forgery. Readable by the page on purpose — the protection works by the page sending it back in a header. | Same as your session |
All three are set with SameSite=Strict, so they are not sent when another site links to us, and are marked Secure in production so they travel only over HTTPS.
3. Players do not get cookies from us
Joining a game as a Player needs no account and sets none of the cookies above. This matters because Players are often children.
4. Storage on your device that is not a cookie
The app keeps a small amount of information in your browser’s local storage so a refresh does not lose your place: which screen you were on, your current game session, your sound preference, and — for a Player — the temporary token that identifies you to the game you joined.
This never leaves your device except when the app sends it back to us to resume your own session, and clearing your browser data removes it.
5. Turning cookies off
Your browser can block cookies. If you block ours, you can still play as a guest, but you will not be able to stay signed in as a Host, because keeping you signed in is what these cookies do.
